Claude might respond with: “This AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'user' suggests that current_user is None at the point where you’re trying to access .user. This often happens when a user is not authenticated or a database lookup failed. Check the preceding code for conditional logic that might return None or ensure your authentication middleware is correctly setting current_user.”
This proactive analysis can save hours of manual tracing. For more complex issues, consider using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to provide Claude Code with relevant parts of your codebase or project configuration. This allows it to understand the broader context and offer more tailored solutions. For instance, if debugging a Docker-related error, you might provide your Dockerfile and docker-compose.yml alongside the error message for a more holistic diagnosis.
